The trail through Manayunk uses the canal towpath and runs behind Main Street businesses. Because of space restrictions there is only a small ‘trailhead’ sign at the location where trail users can access Main Street from the trail. The historic community is famous for shopping, bars, bistros and restaurants along Main Street.
There are a number of parking lots in Manayunk, all clearly marked, along with on-street parking (metered). The parking areas most convenient to the trail are on the south side of Main Street, accessed by bridges across the canal and on islands between the canal and the river. These all require fees for parking.
